Matt Wells BA (Hons) LCIPD FRGS

Matt co-founded Outlook Expeditions in 2001 with one ambition in mind, to create a youth expedition company that would rival all others in terms of quality. Since then Outlook has become the largest independent youth expedition provider in the UK.
Matt is responsible for the overall leadership of Outlook, its internal structure, strategy and development. He has travelled extensively to over 46 different countries across 6 continents and has over 18 years of expedition experience.
This experience includes "first ascents" and "first British ascent" attempts, the leadership and membership of multiple adult and youth expeditions to the Himalayas, Alaska, Kenya, Uganda, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Bolivia and the European Alps.
Matt holds a BA (Hons) degree, is a Licentiate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) holds the Winter Mountain Leader award and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS).
A former British Army Paratrooper and adventure training instructor, Matt has held executive appointments for the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL), the Expedition Providers' Association (EPA) and regularly presents at the National Mountain Centre Plas y Brenin.
Matt enjoys mountain biking, mountaineering and ski touring and lives in North Wales with his wife Helen, son Jack and daughter Elsie.
