Outlook's Chief Instructor must have been feeling brave when he made the offer to take staff members Coasteering on Tuesday 30th June. After much sweating squeezing into wetsuits (one staff member thinking the zip went at the front!), buoyancy aids, cagoules and helmets, off they trotted around the coastline of Porthdafarch beach on Anglesey to the start point. They were given a safety briefing and told that all jumps were 'challenge by choice' and no-one would be made to do anything they didn't want to do (although it was clear they would be hassled!). For the next hour and a half, they scrambled over slippery rocks, swam in the icy cold water, hawled themselves out of the water while trying not to get dragged off the rocks by the large swells, and fearlessly jumped off some rather high (shall we say HUGE) rocks. Everyone had a fantastic time, there was lots of laughter and smiling (and shivering as the cold got the best of us), and only a few scrapes to show for our efforts. The evening ended on a high note - sitting on the beach having a BBQ as the sun went down, and spotting dolphins swimming just off shore. Not a bad way to spend an evening...
Thanks to our Chief Instructor for taking our lives into his hands for a great evening!
