So it's that time of year again. Snow has wreaked havoc across the UK, it's OK to eat chocolate for breakfast and Z list celebrities get some much needed work switching on your local Christmas lights.
As Christmas approaches at Outlook we're busy as ever putting the final pieces in place for 2011 expeditions and launching new expedition opportunities in schools for 2012. We're meeting not only lots of great new future participants but also Link Teachers and Leaders too, it's great to see the Outlook family growing and developing ouside head office walls. A great representation of this is our Facebook page where we now have over 1000 members and a great community. Thanks to all those who have joined and contributed and if you haven't already, please do!
With all the cold weather lots of Outlookers are heading to the Hills to enjoy some winter climbing and walking. Living in Snowdonia, the mountains are close to everyones' hearts and we're priviliged to be able to enjoy such awesome natural surroundings and the opportunites they provide for the activities we love. Whilst we do what ever we can to be prepared and minimise risk, accidents do happen and people still don't realise how harsh an environment the mountains can be particularly in winter. Fortunatley, there are a group of hard working, experienced and dedicated people who give up their time, without being paid to be on hand to help people in difficulty. The Mountain Rescue Team turn out in all weathers, 365 days a year to save lives.
As a completely voluntary organisation, Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team with the help of local school children have produced Christmas Cards to raise funds and Outlook Expeditions are proud to sponsor and send them.
