No "baa"-humbug for Outlook!

It’s the start of the festive season and we’re 5 days into December so the cards must have already started dropping on your door mats. The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) estimates that around 1 billion Christmas cards will be sent this year in the UK alone which equates to over 300,000 trees!

If you want to be a bit more tree-friendly this Christmas there are alternatives. You might want to send some Christmas cheer with recycled cards, cards that support a charity or perhaps send an e-card or how about sending cards made out of Sheep Poo Paper™?! We’ve found these brilliantly quirky and importantly, environmentally friendly cards that are made right here in Snowdonia by a company called Creative Paper Wales.

If you’ve ever wondered how you make paper out of sheep poo (and let’s be honest, who hasn’t?!) then wonder no longer. The industrious paper makers at Sheep Poo Paper™ collect sheep poo from the Welsh hillsides and take it back to their mill where it’s sterilised and washed repeatedly until only its usable fibres are left. Sheep Poo Paper™ informs Outlook that a sheep only digests 50% of everything it eats; the rest is usable fibre perfect for making cards.

If you’d like to send a sheep poo card to your nearest and dearest then visit Creative Paper Wales’ website for further information at www.creativepaperwales.co.uk. They’ve got a whole selection of sheepy designs – this is Outlook’s personal favourite!
