Doesn't time fly! Only this time last year Radio 1 were in my office asking why we'd arranged our conference on the same weekend their Big Weekend was coming to the same estate in which are offices are based!
Well there's no Big Weekend in Bangor this year but the conferences are bigger and better than ever! In response to what we were told last year we decided to have not one but three conferences, making it easier for Link Teachers and Leaders to attend. We also decided to take one conference down to Scotland so that our Scottish friends don't have to travel so far.
The Planners have got their heads down working super hard to get all the itinerary packs containing all the final details of the expedition finished. These guys will attend every conference to talk Leaders and Link Teachers through the details of the expedition. Having planned every last detail from visiting the country, meeting the providers and working out the budgets they are great people to meet and spend time with.
We also have a multitude of experienced staff delivering training sessions randing from Personal Development and Expedition Leadership to Altitude related illnesses and Risk management. There's also a chance to get your hands on specialised equipment such as Satellite phones, GPS and First Aid kits. Add to this an evening of expedition news and a pub quiz with a man in a sparkly jacket and shiny white shoes - it's an event not to be missed!
Last weekend saw the first of the conferences take place in Scotland which was a great success. We have had lots of positive feedback and are now looking forward to the next two weekends in Northampton.
