The Outlook Conference 2009

Posted on 12 / 05 / 2009

Saturday 9th May marked a landmark in the 9 year history of Outlook Expeditions as it heralded the beginning of what we hope will become a successful annual event – The Outlook Conference. The all day event was held at the National Watersports Centre - Plas Menai located on the Menai Straits, near Caernarfon and was attended by those people who make Outlook what it is: our Expedition Leaders, Link Teachers, advisors and associates and Outlook staff members.

The day kicked off with a series of key talks and speeches from the directors: Matt Wells and Rhys Davies, David Wood MBE MC: our chairman, Nick Haddock MBE MA: our educational consultant, Tammy Owens: Senior Marketing Coordinator. The rest of the day was devoted to interactive, informative workshops designed to prepare our Leaders and Link Teachers for their upcoming expeditions. There was of course lots of time for food breaks giving everyone the chance to relax and chat. Dave Bunting MBE provided a fitting end to the conference with an inspiring presentation about his experience as Expedition Leader to the Army’s expedition to the West Ridge of Everest in 2006.

Outlook would like to thank everyone who attended for making our first conference such a fantastic success. People had travelled from all corners of the UK to reach us, so thanks for making it and for your keen participation and efforts on the day. Here’s to next year!
