Alaska and Central America are worlds apart for countries classed as being part of the same continent. From glaciers, arctic tundra and brown bears to cloud forests, turquoise beaches, brightly coloured macaws and red-eyed tree frogs. In Central America you might pick up the basics of a new language, whilst getting off the beaten track.
Life lessons in North & Central America
Participants will definitely feel that they are somewhere new and will instantly take a liking to the character of this continent. During their expedition participants will be able to build on their skills in order to be able to confidently navigate their way around.
Physical rating - North & Central America
Both Alaska and Central America offer technical but achievable challenges which give expedition teams the opportunity to take in their environment as they pass through it.
Culture shock rating - North & Central America
In Alaska you'll have to get used to the vast open spaces and lack of people. It may be the largest American state but it is also the least densely populated! Central America will present challenges when it comes to getting around. Participants are likely to be surprised by the total absence of amenities and comforts they are used to at home. Accommodation will be basic and transport like many things may run on a 'manãna manãna' basis!
