Venezuela is a neat little package of all of South America’s best. You could snorkel in crystal clear Caribbean waters, trek high into the mammoth Andes, explore deserts and pretty river valleys and then top it all with an Amazonian adventure. Los Llanos is the place for those with environmental objectives – these extensive grasslands provide some of the best wildlife spotting opportunities on the continent and herds of capybara are a cert. The drama of Angel Falls (the highest waterfall in the world at 979m) is an un-missable spectacle - you’ll be awed as the water cascades over the edge of the enormous tabletop mountain, Auyantepui, into the jungle below.
