Equipment
Outlook provides every group with team equipment such as tents, cooking equipment, a satellite phone, a Global Positioning System (GPS), specialist safety equipment and medical equipment.
Individual equipment such as sleeping bags, rucksacks and walking boots you need to provide yourself - have a think before you spend lots of money, can you borrow it or buy stuff second hand? Specialist shops are great for quality, lasting kit but you can often pick up gear and clothing such as fleeces from large supermarkets at half the price, that are perfect for a month of hard use! You may want to leave kit in country with guides or projects who do not have very much and this is a lot easier if your kit was not expensive.
You can find a generic kit list in the Members' area and you will be given a list specific to your destination and itinerary during the build up programme.
To help you save some pennies, Outlook Expeditions have teamed up with Cotswold Outdoor Ltd, the UK’s most respected retailer of specialist outdoor clothing and equipment, to offer its participants, Link Teachers and Expedition Leaders discounted purchases.
