Case study 1

Roundwood Park School approached us with what you might think was mission impossible. They wanted to travel to multiple countries, overland, in a single direction, staying within budget; all in a month!

We scratched our heads and then designed their perfect expedition; taking them on a journey which began at Zambia's inspiring Victoria Falls, travelled through Botswana's Okavango Delta, saw them working on a project with the San People of the Kalahari Desert, trekked through Namibia's Fish River Canyon and ended up in Sossusvlei amid 300m sand dunes! 3 countries, 36 days, no u-turns and not a flight in sight.

Case Study 2

For Cranleigh School an expedition to Greenland was the dream. They already had a few ideas of their own and knew that they wanted a challenging technical trek, a project was a must and also a fun activity to top it all off.

We took on all of their ideas and set off on a recce to Greenland to investigate. The itinerary we designed enabled the school to realise their original vision. Their 6 day 62km trek around Disko Island covered a variety of terrain and with few defined paths the team had to learn navigation and map work skills. Sourcing a worthwhile project took time but we eventually found one which made it possible for the participants to work alongside local people helping with renovations at a museum in Qeqertarsuaq. They chose to end the expedition dog sledding across the Lyngmark glacier. Cranleigh assure us that there's nothing quite like it!

Case study 3

When we launched an expedition to Borneo including trekking, a jungle phase and community project for the Sandbach Sixth Form Partnership, we were approached by a parent of a student who was a wheelchair user, asking if we would look into the feasibility of her joining the expedition.

Outlook were able to tailor the trekking phase to meet her needs, incorporating a wheelchair friendly four day cultural route and an itinerary built around her needs whilst also meeting the objectives of the rest of the team.
