Link Teachers

The Link Teacher supports the group throughout the UK build-up programme, assists the group with their fund-raising events, benefits from taking part in all of the training days and then accompanies the group on expedition to one of our amazing worldwide expedition destinations. It is an opportunity not to be missed!

Who can become a Link Teacher?

Any teacher, of any subject, who is excited by the concept of an expedition, can become an Outlook Link Teacher. Whether you are a seasoned expeditioner or have never done anything like this before, we will make sure you have a personalised training schedule to make sure they are prepared for their expedition and offer them the opportunity to develop extra skills if they wish.

Please contact us to find out more about the free training opportunities on offer to Link Teachers.

The role of a Link Teacher

It is essential to appoint a Link Teacher at the beginning of the expedition programme that they are present at the parents evening presentation so that parents have the opportunity to meet the teacher which will be accompanying the group on the expedition.

The Head Link Teacher - acts as the main point of contact between Outlook and the school.  There is normally only one Head Link Teacher at a school, even if there is more than one expedition group.  The Head Link Teacher will normally accompany one of the groups on expedition.  If there is only 1 Link Teacher at the school, they are automatically classed as the Head Link Teacher.

An Assistant Link Teacher – offers the Head Link Teacher support when there is a large expedition group (usually above 13 students), or more than one expedition group at a school.  The Assistant Link Teacher also has the chance to go on expedition.

Gender Balance of the Leader Team

The gender of the Link Teacher drives the Outlook recruitment policy for its leaders that ensures that where possible and practical, a leader team is gender balanced.
