The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is the world's leading achievement award for young people, recognised by employers and universities alike. It helps to instil a sense of adventure and has a lasting impact on young people's behaviour, skills and life chances.
Outlook can Tailor Make expeditions incorporating the Duke of Edinburgh award for school or youth groups at any time. If you are an individual looking to join a DofE expedition please contact us to see if we are currently running an individuals expedition with a DofE focus. For more information on individuals expeditions please click here.
In choosing to complete some sections of your Gold Award overseas participants will be able to experience completely different cultures and environments to those experienced at home. It is an exciting and unforgettable opportunity that will give you confidence and team working skills as well as a wealth of fantastic memories!
As all of Outlook's expeditions are Tailor-Made the expedition can involve plenty more alongside the DofE. Expeditions may include a four day Gold DofE expedition as part of the itinerary but you may choose to incorporate other elements such as project work, an additional guided trek at high altitude trek or even a summit attempt. Destination highlights and R&R will also be included as part of the all inclusive price.
Incorporating the DofE objectives into an expedition means the participants will need to be even more involved in research, preparation and planning. It is important to ensure that from the outset the participants' expectation is that they will take responsibility for their DofE.
Outlook can support three sections of the award overseas; Volunteering, Expedition and Residential at Gold level only.
For more information please contact us and request a copy of our DofE pack. This includes details on how we ensure the '20 conditions' of the DofE are met, team size, destinations, duration, assessment and paperwork as well as further information on completing the expedition, residential and volunteering sections overseas.
