Challenging, inspiring and transforming, the expedition experience is a powerful force in shaping young people and empowering them to identify and realise their ambitions.
Fears are conquered, friendships are strengthened, new relationships are built, unforgettable stories are written, character is revealed, potential is fulfilled and confidence soars! Young people benefit from every aspect through fundraising, planning and training, supported by our expert team so that upon departure they are prepared and motivated for the opportunities that wait for them.
Every Outlook expedition is designed to be educational, not just in the academic sense but in a way that supports the development of core skills. We do this by putting the young people in the driving seat throughout the expedition experience. Each team member will be given the chance to take on key roles and will be accountable for important decisions. Under the guidance of the Expedition Leader they will be given the responsibility for their expedition budget and how it is spent, booking the necessary transport and arranging accommodation for the group.
The expedition journey helps provide the confidence and skills a young person needs to enter higher education or employment. The experiences and ability to evidence skills makes a participant's CV or UCAS application stand out.
Taking part in an expedition is also the perfect introduction to gap year travel or future work overseas.
She was very tired when she got home, but we could hardly stop her talking about it, she has just gone to bed and hasn’t stopped all day! She loved every minute, is inspired to do it again, and appeared to embrace every situation. As your child is growing you hope that they will experience and embrace new cultures and be resilient and confident enough to cope with new situations and challenges. The expedition seems certainly to have encouraged this in a really significant way.

Our expedition teams travel to amazing destinations, take part in fantastic adventures and immerse themselves in fascinating cultures. For many teams an expedition can be very much about the people they meet, whether that be local children on a project or their trekking guide, but it is also about the people you go on expedition with.
Travelling to stunning destinations across the world is exciting and educating but travelling to stunning destinations with your friends is truly extraordinary.
The best thing about my expedition was how close the group got, friendships were formed from different friendship groups that wouldn't have been made at school. We formed such a strong bond which kept us motivated, we always had each other's back and it helped us reach the summit of Mount Toubkal as a team - a phenomenal feeling!

The best part was getting to work for a month with a team of people who I never thought I would become such close friends with. It was very rewarding seeing everyone come out of their shells and really get stuck into every activity or problem we were faced with. Also, everyone teamed together whenever anyone felt down or homesick, it was a real family.
